This year, Collectif Kahraba celebrate its tenth anniversary!
It’s been 10 years already that we come to your encounter through performances, workshops, festivals, conferences… Today, more than ever, we are convinced that poetry is essential to be able to reinvent our human relations.
For the fifth edition of “Us, the moon and the neighbors”, we are invited to get into motion and travel together.
The first invitation is to travel together geographically. The festival that has been taking place since 2011 in a territory that we cultivated together -Vendome stairs in Mar Mikhael- will travel this year from the coast to the mountain, from the city to the village. After two nights in Beirut, we invite you to move with us to Hammana, for an extension of Us, the Moon & the Neighbours.
More than 40 artists came from France, Spain, Belgium, Egypt, Syria and Lebanon. The youngest ones are barely nine years old, and yet they’re moving away from their habits, to meet us.
Dancers improvise with us, for the occasion, a contemporary scene in the playground of a public school, a documentary film tracing the story of a family and its journey from its original village in Armenia to Mar Mikhael, kids unveiling their talents to remind us that beyond regional tensions, what must be saved is childhood…Our childhood.
The second invitation is to move internally. Whether we are professional artists or amateurs, volunteers or spectators, Us, the Moon & the Neighbours offers us the possibility to look at the world from another perspective, through a prism that differs from our daily perception.
Let’s shift our perception of the world a few centimeters and allow a storyteller or a musician to shake our references and enlarge our imagination. Let these artists, with the magic of poetry, enrich our internal landscapes, let’s reimagine a world where encounters are possible. Let’s take the step and participate in keeping alive our common culture.
Welcome to Us, the Moon & the Neighbours, who ever you are and where ever you come from!
